Our flexible online courses allow your employees to upskill in a specific area or work towards a postgraduate qualification. Whatever your organisation’s development goals, Ulster University can help you reach them.

Students on the Flexible Education Framework earn 15 credits for every completed module, building towards a Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits). Students also have the option to carry forward a maximum of 30 credits and put this towards a Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits) or a full Masters qualification (180 credits).

Our online, part-time short courses are developed by leading academics at Ulster University Business School (UUBS). Your employees will have the opportunity to apply their new knowledge to real-world challenges, building confidence and leadership skills to drive your organisation towards sustainable change.

Our vocational curriculum combines theory and practice through weekly projects, case studies and practical exercises, aiming to build your employees’ business and management skills with a keen focus on technology to help meet future of work requirements.

Module Information

Mix and match modules according to your organisational needs, allowing your employees to work towards a postgraduate qualification if desired.

Each module will result in a Certificate of Completion and can be taken individually or combined over a period of time to work towards a Postgraduate Certificate (4 modules).

Stakeholder and Client Management (15 credits)
This introduction to stakeholder and client management aims to develop your skills in influencing the implementation of sustainable change and delivering sustainable outcomes. You will evaluate concepts, methods and theories of stakeholder management and then apply these to real-world context.

Complex Project Management (15 credits)
In this module, you will gain an understanding of the principles and practices of complex project management, focusing on how and why particular projects are successful. This will allow you to develop a project plan and better evaluate each step of the project management journey.

Tech & Data Science in Consulting (15 credits)
This module gives a broad understanding of challenges associated with Big Data, also uncovering the features, capabilities and benefits of data analytics. Learnings include how to manage and derive meaning from Big Data in order to produce insight and build summative models.

Business Research Skills (15 credits)
This module will equip you with the skills needed to collect, interpret and analyse business data for use in decision-making and project management. You will develop a critical understanding of the business research process and learn how to create reports, presentations, and reporting dashboards to be utilised for change and transformation management.

Business Analysis and Consulting (15 Credits)
The aim of this module is to provide you with a critical, practical and sustainable understanding of the business analysis process and the skills to apply analytical tools and concepts. On completion, you’ll be able to identify business needs, tackle business challenges and measure impact.

Business Analysis Foundations for Practice (15 credits)
This module will give you an understanding of the concepts, approaches and techniques that apply to business analysis, strengthening your progression on a business analysis career path. You’ll explore a range of strategic analysis and performance management techniques, developing the skills and knowledge to support successful business change programmes within an organisation.

Strategy and Transformation (15 credits)
This module acknowledges how transformation can radically change an organisation’s business model and vastly affect products, processes and organisational structures. You’ll learn the importance of fundamental strategy, all the while building the tools and techniques needed to make sense of transformational change.

Corporate Governance and Ethics (15 credits)
Corporate scandals have led to standards of corporate governance, conduct and ethics gaining new prominence in the financial services industry. This module will help you to secure these high standards by considering transparency, accountability and integrity, and how they are translated into effective and ethical practice. To do this, you’ll analyse case studies to describe failures, their causes and the lessons to be learned from them.

Leadership and Transformation (15 credits)
This module provides in-depth knowledge of leading transformation within an organisational context. You will gain a critical understanding of the key concepts and theories of leadership development in the context of transformation management, looking at how to build and lead teams for effective transformation execution.

Financial Theory, Products, Markets (15 credits)
The modern theory of finance is the solid basis of a career in the financial services industry. This module will develop your knowledge of global financial markets within the context of the technology used by practitioners. It will help you understand how financial assets may be valued and packaged and the relevant financial mathematics used to apply basic techniques in quantitative finance. You’ll also develop an understanding of approaches to trading and investment.

Leadership and Transformation (15 credits)
This module provides in-depth knowledge of leading transformation within an organisational context. You will gain a critical understanding of the key concepts and theories of leadership development in the context of transformation management, looking at how to build and lead teams for effective transformation execution.

Financial Econometric Modelling (15 credits)
This module will extend your understanding of modern econometric techniques for handling financial data and build a bridge between financial theory and practice. With extensive use of statistical software, you’ll be able to use real data to analyse financial models. An important component of the module will be the use of basic statistical concepts, particularly regression analysis and hypothesis tests relating to financial models.

Tech Operations in Transformation (15 credits)
This technical module looks at the development and deployment of software solutions in contemporary operational practices. You will gain insight into novel technologies, concepts and solutions to enable change and development across a scalable infrastructure. Learnings will be backed by related theory and concepts that show the impact of these solutions on administrative, operational and accounting practices.

Regulation and Compliance (15 credits)
This module will give you an understanding of financial regulation and compliance, both domestically and internationally. You’ll learn about the key elements to protect consumers from financial crime and mis-selling as well as gain the confidence to make informed ethical and professional judgements in future financial services roles.
